Project: Smart Design

For the 'Smart Design' project, we worked as a group on a modular dress: a versatile garment that fits every situation. We designed the concept together, but my focus was mainly on the digital presentation of our concept. I was responsible for the design and development of our project website. I focused on conveying our brand identity. Our brand name 'MOD É' represents a combination of modularity and fashion. The 'É' stands separately, just like the interchangeable parts of our dress. With the website, I wanted to convey the core values of our brand: sustainability, versatility, and timeless elegance. I chose a minimalist and clear style that beautifully aligns with our concept and target audience. The positive feedback from my team gave me confidence and motivated me to perfect every detail.

Additionally, I took on the entire production of our video presentation. This included filming, directing, and editing, using CapCut. The video had a creative approach with a nod to 'The Devil Wears Prada'. In it, we showed how the main character, Frédérique, removes different elements of the dress while on the go, such as sleeves and skirt parts, to create new looks each time. As a fun conclusion, we added a lighthearted behind-the-scenes segment, which playfully showcased our process and the pleasant group atmosphere. The group was very enthusiastic about the result, and the positive reactions I received made me feel that my contribution was truly appreciated.

During this project, I realized how valuable good communication is in a team. I regularly asked for feedback, but now understand it would have been even better to share my progress more often. This would have involved the team more in the creative process. I discovered that my strength lies in the creative part of a project. The combination of design, branding, and storytelling suits me well and gives me a lot of energy. The part I'm most proud of is the video presentation. It was intensive work, but I felt completely in my element and look back with satisfaction on what we achieved together. I'm also grateful for the pleasant atmosphere in the group. At the beginning, we didn't know each other well, but by working together, we grew into a close-knit team that truly valued each other.
